Overview of Allen-Bradley 1746-INT4 Thermocouple/mV Isolated Input Module
The Allen-Bradley 1746-INT4 is a four-channel isolated thermocouple/millivolt analog input module designed for SLC 500 systems. It converts thermocouple inputs (types B, C, D, E, J, K, N, R, S, T) and millivolt signals (-50 to +50 mV DC and -100 to +100 mV DC) into digital data accessible by the SLC 500 processor. The module features individual channel isolation of 1000 V transient and 150 V AC, Sigma-Delta analog-to-digital conversion, filtering, open-circuit detection, and selectable temperature and millivolt scales.
Key Features
- Four isolated input channels supporting thermocouples and millivolt inputs
- Channel isolation: 1000 V transient, 150 V AC continuous
- Input filtering with low-pass digital filtering and 8 Hz bandwidth
- Open-circuit detection to identify disconnected sensors
- Selectable Celsius or Fahrenheit temperature units and millivolt scale ranges
- LED indicators for channel status and module operation
- Removable terminal block with cold junction compensation (CJC) sensors factory installed
- Operating temperature range of 0 to 60 °C (32 to 140 °F)
- Storage temperature range of -40 to 85 °C (-40 to 185 °F)
- CSA, UL, and CE certified for industrial use
